Mommy Daughter Day

This was the first time in a while that just the two of us spent the whole day together. So even though my mother and I video call once a week it was nice to hang out in person. Daddy was meeting up with a cousin and an old college friend so we were on our own. I’d been wanting to ride along the shoreline all week and today was the day! I just had to convince Mommy to come with…. After confirming that we’d have helmets and that the path was paved, relatively flat and that the view would be beautiful she conceded and an hour later we were posing on rental bikes!

We rode about 5 miles beyond Humber Bay Arch Bridge. Stopping a few times: for water, bathroom, photos and to take in the view of Lake Ontario. It was such a beautiful day!!! Perfect for biking and being outdoors — sunny but not hot, breezy but not windy. We did about 10 miles, but I probably could have done another 5; we’ll see what our thighs have to say about that tomorrow morning! I hope to be like my mom in another twenty years still willing and physically fit enough hang tough on a last minute bike ride in a new city!

After 2.5 hours out we returned the bikes then headed back to shower. Then checked out this new restaurant on Queens Quay called Queens Harbour. It got rave reviews from two cousins at the reunion so I had to check it out! Our day was somewhat like a mini girls trip. Shower, get dressed, get out, excursion, shower, discuss what to wear, swap clothes (my mom gave me her dress to wear — see us twinning below 👯‍♀️), get dressed again, pictures before going out, go out to eat, snap a photo of drinks,  then of the food, head home and chill.

Instead of going out again though,

the night ended and now we are all back home relaxing — individually, all on our own devices chuckling at whatever digital nonsense entertains us as we wind down for bed and the long commute back home tomorrow. 😅 It’s been an amazing week here in Toronto! No regrets and so glad we stayed downtown!
